The Fleckalmbahn had already been in use for over 30 years and 90,000 operating hours before it was modernized in 2019. To enable the transport of the TEUFELBERGER rope, which is over 8 kilometers long, two rope pieces were produced and spliced together on site. Four auxiliary ropes were required to assemble the 122-tonne rope.

Pisamover / Pisa, Italy (funicular railway)

The Pisamover is an urban, fully automatic, electric train that serves as a shuttle from Pisa Central Station to the airport and is in use 365 days a year. Travel time from the airport to the train station is only five minutes and the train runs with a maximum speed of 40 km/h.

After 34 years of use the Waldalm surface lift was removed and replaced by a new 10-passenger gondola ropeway operated with a rope from TEUFELBERGER. In addition to the new ropeway, the ski run of the Waldalm slope was extended and provided with a snowmaking system.

Breitspitzbahn, Galtür, Austria (monocable ropeway)

Being situated at the Kops water reservoir, the new Breitspitzbahn in Galtür is something special. The valley station is located right at the west side of the retaining wall, and therefore the rope had to be moved over the wall using special transport facilities.

Ochsgartenbahn, Ötz, Austria (monocable ropeway)

The Ochsgartenbahn in Ötz is a masterpiece in terms of “upcycling”. The ropeway was built in Sölden in 1998, where it was running over 18 years before being dismantled and re-erected in Ötz last April. Most of the towers were reused. Gears, hydraulic pumps, sheave assemblies and electric motors were completely overhauled, where necessary. Apart from the new cabins a new haul rope was needed, which was delivered by the Austrian rope manufacturer TEUFELBERGER.

In the summer of 2015, construction work for the new 'Eisgratbahn', a tricable ropeway on the Stubai Glacier, began. In the fall of 2015, TEUFELBERGER delivered the first four STRESSLESS carrying ropes for this tricable ropeway. The delivery of another four STRESSLESS carrying ropes and two SOLITEC® hauling ropes followed in spring 2016. Since October 2016, this unidirectional ropeway has the capacity to carry a maximum number of 3,014 passengers per hour up to the Stubai Glacier.
Madrisa Schaffürggli / Klosters, Switzerland (carrying-hauling rope)

The Madrisa Schaffürggli ropeway is the first installation in Switzerland that is fully suitable for children. The system consists of a detachable 6-seater chairlift with weather protection hoods, seat heating, automatic locking, and sensors detecting the presence of a child among a group. The system is pulled by a SOLITEC® carrying-hauling rope from TEUFELBERGER allowing the access to be adjusted in height, thus making it suitable for children.

City ropeway of IGA / Berlin, Germany (gondola ropeway)

For the occasion of the International Garden Expo (IGA) Berlin 2017, a new city ropeway will be built in the German capital. The plan is to install automatically detachable GD10 gondola lifts capable of carrying up to 3,000 visitors per hour around the water and theme gardens of the IGA. The journey along this panoramic 1.5 kilometer route is made possible by a SOLITEC® hauling rope from TEUFELBERGER.

TirolS / Fieberbrunn and Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang, Austria (monocable ropeway)

Since December 2015, the TirolS ropeway has linked the Fieberbrunn ski resort to the Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Ski Circus. This 10-passenger monocable ropeway is pulled by a TEUFELBERGER hauling rope and brings 2,600 passengers per hour to their destinations. This ropeway link makes the Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Ski Circus and Fieberbrunn one of the world's biggest skiing arenas.

Brunn / Kitzbühel, Austria (chairlift)

The 2015/2016 skiing season in Kitzbühel kicked off with the opening of a new 8-passenger high speed chairlift featuring bubbles and seat heating. Pulled by a TEUFELBERGER SOLITEC® hauling rope, this 1,460 m long chairlift transports up to 3,300 passengers per hour.

Chua Chan Pagoda, Vietnam (gondola ropeway)

The Chua Chan Mountain is the second highest peak in the south of Vietnam. At an elevation of about 600 meters above sea level, there is a Buddhist temple that attracts large crowds of worshippers, year after year. Since 2015, an 8-passenger gondola ropeway, hauled by a TEUFELBERGER SOLITEC® rope, has been carrying these tourists up the mountain. Now, as many as 2,400 passengers per hour are transported up the Chua Chan.

Since 2014, the new Grünbergbahn ropeway has been in operation to ascend 550 m in altitude to the recreational area near Lake Traunsee. Carried by a TEUFELBEGER STRESSLESS rope and hauled by a SOLITEC® rope, each of its two cabins offers space to 60 passengers. In its first season, it transported more than 100,000 visitors, i.e. double the expected number.

Mandalay Bay Casino / Las Vegas, USA (funicular railway)

Since 1999, the Cable Liner of the Mandalay Bay Casino in Las Vegas has carried up to 65,000 passengers per day (it operates 12 hours a day). This 865 m long funicular railway is pulled by a TEUFELBERGER hauling rope which has already withstood 60,000 operating hours and more than one million bending cycles.

In 2013, the two Swiss ski resorts of Arosa and Lenzerheide were linked with a spectacular reversible aerial ropeway. 1.7 km long, it connects Mount Hörnli with the Urdenfürggli Pass and uses 2 rope types made by TEUFELBERGER. This ropeway is capable of carrying up to 1,700 passengers per hour. It also continues in service through the high season in summer.

Austria's highest ropeway carries almost 2,200 passengers per hour up to an altitude of 3,340 m for skiing, or for just having a cup of coffee in a spectacular setting. The steel wire rope from TEUFELBERGER, which has contributed significantly toward the success of this project, weighs over 44 tons.
