Frequently asked questions
The training period to become a plastics process technician is three years, while the training to become a plastics technologist takes four years. In the fourth year of your training, you will be dealing in depth with the production of plastic products. At Teufelberger, we start out with the plastics process apprenticeship. If your performance is outstanding and your commitment is top, it will, of course, be possible for you to switch to plastics technologist in the third year of your apprenticeship. Thus, you will complete your apprenticeship after four years and start as a fully qualified professional at Teufelberger. Right from the second day! The first day will be your welcoming day, which you will be spending together with all of our other new apprentices. You will be given a personal welcome by the company management, receive a first introduction to our products and our workplace safety programs, and get to know your new colleagues in a relaxed atmosphere. On the following day, your proper training will begin. You will be involved in everyday operations and be given the chance to take on responsibility. Depending on the apprenticeship year, we have about 3-7 apprentices. Each team for a shift consists of 10-12 colleagues. Depending on the type of work and the department, you will have varying numbers of apprentices as direct colleagues. In joint projects, you will interact with all of Teufelberger’s apprentices. Qualified and dedicated employees from our manufacturing team will teach you all you need to know about the production of our plastic strapping. And whenever you spend some “taster time” in other departments, there will always be trained colleagues to show you the ropes. You will attend a vocational school in Steyr for a 10-week block. From 7.00 a.m. to 3.45 p.m., including a half-hour break. Every second Friday, your work day will end at 12 p.m. (noon). What is the difference between a plastics process technician and a plastics technologist?
