What you will learn at Teufelberger as an apprentice information technologist

Starting at the Service Desk, you will be dealing with the tickets and requests of our employees to ensure that their PCs, software programs and cell phones work smoothly. Step by step, you will get acquainted with the existing systems and start to handle small tasks. In your own test environment, you will have the opportunity to test services and features, independently of the production systems, and thus consolidate your knowledge and expertise - of course, always with the support of the whole team.

Your specific tasks include:

    • Collaboration at the International Service Desk
    • Installing and configuring IT equipment and software
    • Performing small tasks after system-specific training
    • Handling small requests or projects

Information technologist at Teufelberger – more than an apprenticeship

Time and again, Teufelberger apprentices are also assigned special projects such as charity campaigns or climate projects. Upskilling days on which you will travel to other places with your fellow apprentices also add variety.

Frequently asked questions

Will I be involved in everyday operations right from the start?

Yes! You will be working at the Service Desk right from the beginning, providing IT support virtually on the front lines. There, it will not take long for you to get to know all of your colleagues at Teufelberger.

How large is the team?

You will be working on a team consisting of about 10 people – and counting.

Will some of my colleagues be apprentices?

Yes, there will be other apprentices on your team. You will be cooperating across departments, and you will also interact with all of Teufelberger’s apprentices in joint projects.

Who are my trainers?

You will have a main go-to person for your training. However, you will be mostly learning in day-to-day operations and from the whole team whose members will offer you active support.

Which vocational school will I be attending?

You will attend a vocational school in Linz for a 10-week block.

What will my working hours be like?

You will have 38.5-hour weeks and flextime. You will coordinate your work schedule with your trainer. You can start your work days between 7.00 and 9.00 a.m. and end them between 3.00 and 5.00 p.m.
