The Passive Rescue Set is used to rescue an injured or incapacitated person from a fall arrest harness by way of a passive rescue operation. This means that the rescuer conducts the rescue by lowering the evacuee from a belayed stance. Using the ABS 3a WH abseil rescue device, the evacuee is lifted up, then disengaged from his/her fall arrest system, and lowered using the automatic abseiling function of the ABS 3aWH. To receive the evacuee, the rope of the rescue device can be connected directly to a harness eyelet, or else be connected to the fall arrest system using the included rescue clamps. The rescue clamps can be applied to the wire ropes or textile straps of Teufelberger fall arresters. The rescue set can also be packaged into a case. In this case, annual inspections by the manufacturer can be omitted. All the on-site expert will have to do is check the packaging. This set is used to rescue persons who have had an accident at work sites located at height where abseiling straight down is possible.
