The ASS-M was developed specifically for entry into vessels and silos where it can be connected to existing holed flanges. After the cantilever arm has been screwed to the holed flange of a vessel or silo, a person belayed on the arm may descend into the vessel or container. ASS-M type cantilever arms are used where more frequent work intervals are necessary and where such work needs to be executed quickly.
