With only a few percent in volume but up to 20% in value of all composite industry applications the aeronautics industry is the trend setter in the composite industry. TEUFELBERGER’s firm intention is to be as close as possible to the market to recognize process and material innovations as well as general trends as early as possible.

One of the first projects of the company was the development of an outer bypass duct for an aircraft engine in cooperation with a leading aeronautics company utilizing the automated composite braiding process. The successful project clearly showed that the braiding process in combination with RTM is capable to reduce the cost as well as the manufacturing time of the part considerably compared to the traditional prepreg and autoclave process.

But not only for engine parts - composite braiding offers obvious advantages also for the manufacturing process of structural parts of the aircraft body (e.g braces).
